Jazzing Dynasty Sets Second Track Record With Fastest Time To Weber Downs Fillies Derby

OGDEN, UT–MAY 5, 2024–Jazzing Dynasty breaks her second consecutive track record at Weber Downs this year after setting the time to beat in the $23,837 Weber Downs Fillies Derby trials on Sunday.

Just two weeks ago Jazzing Dynasty broke her maiden and the 330-yard track record after winning the Maiden Frolic Stakes at Weber Downs. Today she returned setting the field on fire for the fastest qualifying time and a 350-yard track record in :17.622 seconds clocking a 107 speed index.

Jockey Julian Zaval piloted the daughter of Jr Dynasty Moon to her 1/2-length wire-to-wire victory over Chile Cartel with a 15 mph tailwind. Jazzing Dynasty has lit the board six of eight starts for owner/trainer Wes Kellett and has $24,899 in the bank.

Ross Herrick bred Jazzing Dynasty in Utah out of Jazzing Jenna by Jazzing Hi.

Chile Cartel, ridden by Jesus Canales, was runner-up to Jazzing Dynasty clocking the second fastest time in :15.539 seconds with a 105 speed index. The daughter of Five Bar Cartel is one of four qualifiers trained by Sergio Canales.

Bred and owned in Utah by W3 Farms, LLC, Chile Cartel has lit the board six of seven starts with two career wins and $19,784 in earnings. The three-year-old chestnut filly placed second in the Bitterroot Futurity [G3] and fifth in the Beehive Futurity last year. She is out of Dinastia Rose by FDD Dynasty.
