Sixty Two-Year-Olds Entered in Four Corners Futurity Trials
BY MICHAEL CUSORTELLI
FARMINGTON, NM–MAY 1, 2024–Sixty 2-year-olds, led by Ronald Sugamosto's Razor Sharp, are entered in Friday's 350-yard Four Corners Futurity trials at SunRay Park.
A $67,000 buy at last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale, Razor Sharp is coming off of a third-place finish, a half of a length behind winner Love Ta Fly, in the April 6, 300-yard West Texas Juvenile Stakes at Sunland Park. Eric Valenzuela trains the sorrel daughter of champion Tempting Dash.
Razor Sharp drew post 7 and will be ridden by Sergio Becerra Jr. in the fifth of six trials.
Famous Flyin Cowgirl, a $45,000 purchase at last year's Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale, is coming off of a wire-to-wire, 1 3/4-length victory in a 330-yard, $21,500 maiden-special-weight dash at SunRay Park on April 13. Johnny Singh trains the Flying Cowboy 123 filly for owner Raul Beltran.
Famous Flyin Cowgirl drew post 6 and will be ridden by Noe Garcia Jr. in the fourth heat.
The 10 fastest qualifiers will meet in the May 18, $75,000-added Four Corners Futurity final.
