Relentless Diamond Remains Undefeated For 2024 After Easy Date Stakes [G2] Victory

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK– APRIL 29, 2024–Remington Park resumed racing on Monday afternoon after six of the stakes races were canceled on Saturday due to inclement weather, starting with race 1, the $81,400 Easy Date Stakes [G2].

Some of the industry's top athletes were racing for the Easy Date trophy, with eight of the ten contenders having six-figure incomes attached to their resumes. Relentless Diamond maintained her win streak under jockey James Flores for her third consecutive in 2024.

Relentless Diamond had the edge on the outside and denied all rivals from wire-to-wire. The daughter of Hes Relentless was just a tick off breaking the stakes record time clocking a 101 speed index in :17.297 seconds. The 350-yard victory paid $9.00 to win on 5/2 odds.

This is the first stakes victory for the six time winner trained by Guillermo Valdivia. The $49,530 winner's share of the purse increases her total earnings to $164,232.

Relentless Diamond was an $18,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate in 2021. The four-year-old filly was bred in Oklahoma by Monty McNair out of the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Pyc Diamond.

Jockey Cordarelton Benn guided Im a Fancee Chik to her second place finish, which was her third blacktype in the last four outs. The eight-time winner has three stakes wins under her belt with $286,847 in the bank.

Danny Salisbury owns and bred Im A Fancee Chik in Oklahoma out of the Smoke Glacken mare Dixie Marrone. Trainer Luz Chavira trains the five-year-old mare sired by Im A Fancy Pyc.

Third placed finisher First Time For Wine, piloted by Oscar Andrade Jr, was one of only two contenders who did not have six figures in the bank. The daughter of First Moonflash has lit the board 12 of 16 starts with three wins and $69,259 in earnings.

Pete A. Scarmardo bred First Time For Wine in Texas out of Time For Wine by Mr Jess Perry. John Stinebaugh conditions the four-year-old filly.

Rounding out the order of finish are post-time favorite Pops First Lady, Vytaliti, Fox News, A Dream To Fill, Eye Live For Candy, One Famous Lil Lady and Tachas Secret.
