Favored To Win Relentless American Stays Undefeated With Victory In $100,000 Remington Park Juvenile

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK– APRIL 29, 2024–Relentless American had the advantage after a quick break from the gates winning the $100,000 Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Juvenile on Monday afternoon.

Trained by Jason Olmstead, Relentless American stays undefeated after winning his trial heat to the Remington Park Futurity clocking the third fastest time to the Juvenile and returning for today's victory.

Jockey Edwin Escobedo led Relentless American from gate-to-wire in :16.677 seconds against a 5 mph headwind. The post-time favorite clocked a 93 speed index after crossing the finish line 1 1/4-lengths ahead of Okie Power which paid $5.40 to win on 8/5 odds.

The $41,667 winner's portion of the purse increases the son of champion sire Hes Relentless total earnings to $50,559 from two starts. Owner Tom Maher bred Relentless American in partnership with Bill Maher in Oklahoma out of the Tres Seis mare Tritoon.

Okie Power, piloted by Cristian Esqueda, was second best. The son of multiple stakes sire Power Jam has lit the board in every out from three starts with one win and $32,114 in the bank.

Breeder Buddy Suthers sold Okie Power to his trainer Cosme Velasquez for $20,000 in last year's Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The brown gelding is now owned by Eric Neumeier.

Justine Klaiber was aboard Brisa De Mar for her third place finish. The daughter of world champion sire Apollitical Jess has one win from three starts with $23,496 in earnings.

Breeder Mike Vaughan sold Brisa De Mar for to her current owner Wishbone Partnership for $140,000 in the 2023 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale. The Oklahoma-bred filly out of Aqua Girl by Corona Cartel is trained by Eddie Willis.

Thereturnofthecartel, Apolitical Seis, Top Flying Cowboy, Coo Joe and Billie Blues Girl complete the order of finish.
