Carters Kissin Cindy Breaks Maiden In AQRA President’s Open Derby Consolation

PHOENIX, AZ– MARCH 27, 2024–Against a five mph crosswind, Carters Kissin Cindi broke his maiden with a late victory by a photo finish in the $23,000 AQRA President’s Open Derby Consolation (not black type) at Turf Paradise on Tuesday.

Jockey Daniel Amaya piloted Carters Kissin Cindi to a nose victory in :17.651 seconds clocking a 93 speed index. The slight upset paid $12.60 to win on 5/1 odds.

Trained by Villamar Candelario, this is the first victory from nine starts for Carters Kissin Cindi. The son of Kiss My Hocks’ victory added $13,800 to his earnings for a total of $23,647. He is owned by Benjamin Calderon and Roberto Baeza.

Carters Kissin Cindi was a $17,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate in 2022. The three-year-old colt was bred in Texas by Stone Chase Stables out of Whos Kissin Carter by Carters Cartel.

Corazon Stoli, ridden by Emilio Tapia, lead the entire way but was out bested for second at the wire. The son of Foose, has one win from ten starts with $18,624 in the bank.

Rene Carreon of Arizona bred and owns Carazon Stoli, who’s dam is Mystoli by Stoli. The three-year-old filly is conditioned by Armando Castellanos.

Passion Four A Bok, with Jacob Enriquez in the irons, placed third. The two-time winning daughter of A Passion For Flashn has $25,050 in earnings and is trained by Angel Dominguez.

Ricardo Torres-Martinez bred Passion Four A Bok in New Mexico out of Pump It Up Bok by Boknaii. The gray filly is owned by Antonio Dulses Venegas Jr.

Project Amazon, Tell Jones, First Prize Spirit and Uncommon Soldier complete the order of finish.
