Bradys March Madness Scorches The Track In The Louisiana Laddie Futurity

VINTON, LA—MAY 25, 2013— Jesse Rodriguez, Jr.’s Bradys March Madness established a new track and stakes record in Saturday night’s $271,460 Louisiana Laddie Futurity (RG2) at Delta Downs.

Under jockey Raul Ramirez, Jr., Bradys March Madness broke alertly and ran near the lead in the 330-yard event before pulling clear in the final 100 yards of the race to defeat Bonnies Jet by two lengths. Tf Toast To Beduino finished another half-length behind in third.

Bradys March Madness, who is conditioned by Miguel Rodriguez, covered the distance over a fast track in 16.337, which earned him a speed index of 103. The clocking broke the track record of 16.354, which was set by Jessalittlecourage in the 2011 edition of the Louisiana Lassie Futurity. The previous Laddie stakes record time of 16.481 was set by Coltins Fast Dash in 2012.

The win by Bradys March Madness also broke his maiden, as he had finished third twice and second once in three previous outs. Saturday’s effort placed $135,730 into his bankroll, which now stands at $186,275. He was placed in the $281,796 Mardi Gras Futurity(RG2) on March 16 at Louisiana Downs.

Bradys March Madness is a 2-year-old by Jess Louisiana Blue, out of the Jj Shot Glass mare Kokopelli Hills. Triple Lynn Farms, LLC bred him in Louisiana.

Bonnies Jet earned $46,149 by finishing second for owner Oscar Rohne. Kenny Roberts, Sr. conditions the Jet Black Patriot gelding out of Oso Sweet Look, by Special Effort. Jesse Chavis was aboard the B&G Group Investments, Inc. Louisiana-bred. After winning his trial in his first start, Bonnies Jet has now earned $55,749.

Eddie Cox rode Tf Toast To Beduino for owner Ramon Martinez and trainer Frank Cavazos. The Struttin To Beduino colt from the Toast To Dash mare Toast To Tolltac earned $27,146 to boost his career total $35,746 after three starts. J&B Rentals and Tate Farms is the breeder.

Nealy Bug, Oak Tree Eye and Yagouti completed the short field. Kool Design, Run Daddy Run, Swingin Kat Man and T Boy G were all scratched.

Delta Downs begins is sixth week of American Quarter Horse racing on Wednesday night with another 10-race program that begins at 6:45 p.m.
