Stroller Sets New 350-Yard Record at Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 13, 2014—After a strong but brief rainstorm with hail passed over Remington Park Sunday afternoon, a cooling front followed with the winds moving from the north for the rest of the day. Stroller benefitted from that advantage as he won the final race on the card, setting a new track record in the process.

Stroller was victorious in a $21,100 allowance at 350 yards. Owned by Valeriano Racing Stable of Odessa, Texas and trained by Eddie Willis, Stroller was ridden by Larry Payne.

The 3-year-old gelding made steady progress to grab the lead late, hitting the finish in :16.983 seconds over a track made sloppy by the earlier storm earlier. The northerly tailwind of 24mph aided the quick time that shaved .077 of a second off the former mark set on May 20, 2012 by Cruzin The Wagon.

Stroller is by Walk Thru Fire from the Corona Cartel mare Moonlight Corona and was bred in California by Edward Allred.

The 2014 American Quarter Horse & Mixed-breed Season at Remington Park continues Thursday thru Sunday, April 17-20 with racing nightly at 6pm except for Sunday at 1:30pm. Saturday, April 19 features a stakes-laden program led by the $791,000 Remington Park Futurity for Oklahoma-breds.
