FREDERICKSBURG, TX—AUGUST 24, 2014—Levian, a First Prize Perry filly who started for a tag two races back, got up over Red Corona Warrior on Sunday afternoon to win the $128,250 Gillespie County Fair Futurity at the Gillespie County Fairground. Sweet Okey Dokey finished three-quarters back in the show position.

After breaking her maiden for a $10,000 tag at Fair Meadows on July 13, Levian got her second career win while setting the fourth fastest time for the Gillespie County Fair Futurity on August 10. Today, under jockey Ivan Carnero, the filly drifted a bit but went all out to get the head victory. She completed the 350 yards in :17.814 seconds into an 11 mph headwind.

Fidel Perez saddled Levian to her third consecutive win, from four starts, for owner Victor Perez. The $44,888 winner's purse swelled the brown filly's earnings to more than $51,000. Bobby D. Cox bred Levian in Oklahoma from the Game Patriot mare Game Snowlady.

Following an erratic start, jockey Luis Vivanco got the talented Red Corona Warrior straightened out to run on down the track and earn $19,238 for second. Carlos Botello conditions the Coronas Fast Dash gelding, out of Prairie War Princess by Dashin Is Easy, for owner/breeder Terrazas Family. The three-time futurity finalist has earned $33,382 this season. Two races back he was third in the TQHA Sires' Cup Futurity on June 28 at Retama Park.

Sweet Okey Dokey suffered his first career loss, in four starts, when he broke in the hung late to finish third. Manuel Hernandez trains the Okey Dokey Fantasy 2-year-old for owner Roberto Rosales. The $12,495 third place check boosted the chestnut's earnings mark to nearly $40,000. David Alvarez was aboard the Kerry Vallet Louisiana-bred from the Special Effort mare Sweet Mama Gene.

Fasttimeswith Redoak, Jetin Cosmos, Jessjinging, Frisco Jess, Jess Gone Streakin, Royal Blue Jess and I Do It For Fame completed the field.
