Executive Trust Steps Up In Zia's King Rick Rack Stakes

HOBBS, NM—NOVEMBER 16, 2014—Coming off an impressive one-length allowance win at Zia September 30, Executive Trust (7-1) was a slight surprise over a strong stakes field Sunday afternoon when he defeated Coronas Boy by one-length in the 10th running of the $55,170 King Rick Rack Stakes at Zia Park. Cj Rocksolid took the early lead and stayed on the trail to finish half-a-length back in the show position.

Ridden by jockey Ry Eikleberry, Executive Trust surged clear after being take six-wide off the turn to complete the 870 yard course over a fast racetrack in :45:694 seconds. The $33,000 winner's purse increases Executive Trust's earnings total to $86,955.

Guadalupe Munoz, Jr. conditions the Executive Menace 3-year-old for owner Sherree Meridyth. Scarlett Hill Farm, Inc. bred the gray gelding in Texas from the Relagate (TB) mare Entrust. Unplaced in two starts last season, Executive Trust has won five of 10 races this year.

Executive Trust is the second stakes winner bred by Scarlett Hill Farm, Inc. this weekend. On Saturday night their homebred One Famous Eagle filly Lil Famous Dash won the Grade 1 Texas Classic Derby at Lone Star Park.

Following a slow start, multiple stakes winner, Coronas Boy picked up $12,100 for his second place effort. Daniel Cano saddled the 5-year-old Mr Houston gelding for owner/breeder Victor Diaz. The bay New Mexico-bred is from the Corona Cartel mare My First Corona. L.S. Martinez had the riding assignment aboard the $322,523 earner.

Cj Rocksolid dueled early under jockey Ricardo Aguirre but yielded to earn $5,500 for owners Rockin J Running Horses and Jack Manning. The homebred Rock Solid Jess 4-year-old is out of Sultry Miss, by The Signature. Tammy Kay Johnson trains the multiple stakes-placed earner of $67,963.

Post-time favorite Droppin Timber was mid-track early and rallied late to finish fourth. Whiteface Eagle, Call Her Hero, Im Royal Quick and Fishin For Dough completed the field.
