Crawford Takes Lead In Close Trainer’s Race At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MAY 28, 2015—Trainer Clint Crawford saddled one winner on Thursday night at Remington Park, sending Blazen A Fire out to break his maiden. The triumph placed Crawford atop the trainer standings with just three race dates remaining.

The win by Blazen A Fire ($17.20 to win) in race six on Thursday, gives Crawford 21 victories for the season, putting him one ahead of Eddie Willis and Jeff Dean. Crawford is seeking his first-ever Remington Park trainer’s title. Willis has taken the top honors at Remington Park nine times, including the last five American Quarter Horse seasons consecutively.

Blazen A Fire is a Walk Thru Fire gelding owned by A and H Construction. Joan Crew Hoyt bred 2-year-old from the Blazen Bryan mare Blazen Maven. It was the first win in three starts for the Oklahoma-bred and the victory put his earnings mark to $14,620.

The final three race dates of the Remington Park American Quarter Horse Season take place Friday thru Sunday, May 29-31. The first race on Friday, May 29 is at 6pm. The “Mega-Card” on Saturday, May 30 that features the $1.1 million Heritage Place Futurity and total purse money worth over $2.3 million will being at 5pm. The final afternoon of the season on Sunday, May 31 starts at 1:30pm.

Open daily at 10:30am for casino gaming and simulcast racing, Remington Park features the Bricktown Brewery on the casino floor. Admission, general parking and valet parking are always free at Remington Park, home of the $1,170,000 Heritage Place Futurity on Saturday, May 30.
