Tell Him Bye Wins Colors of Houston Paint Juvenile Stakes on Monday

HOUSTON, TX—MAY 2, 2016—Tell Him Bye got away alertly Monday afternoon, under jockey Noe Villatoro, to defeat Kearl Girl by 1¼ lengths in the Grade 2 $15,000 Colors of Houston Paint Juvenile Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park. Judys Kiss finished one-length back in the show position.

Racing for owner Joanne Rubio and trainer Esteban Rubio, Tell Him Bye completed the 300 yards in :15.526 seconds, earning a 95 speed index with a 12 mph tailwind.

The Hiclass La Jolla (QH) 2-year-old picked up his first career win, from two starts, and added $9,000 to his bankroll. Sandra Garnett Tatom bred the sorrel gelding in Texas from the Judys Lineage mare Dial Judy.

Trainer Judd Kearl saddled Kearl Girl for owner/breeder Dena Todd. The Favorite Cartel (QH) filly, out of Treasured Judy by Judys Lineage, has placed twice in two starts this season. Ridden by Rodrigo Vallejo, the bay miss earned $3,000.

Judys Kiss races for owner Rene Rios and trainer Noe Rios. Sandra Garnett Tatom bred the Judys Lineage colt in Texas from the Teller Cartel (QH) mare Kiss And Teller (QH). The Colors of Houston Paint Juvenile was the first career starts for the sorrel colt. He picked up $1,650 for the effort.

Sienna Eyes, Elcoronel, Freakin Awesome and Unosuchaspeciallegend completed the field.
