Klassic Secret Br Prevails in Mount Hood Handicap

PORTLAND, OR—DECEMBER 4, 2016—Klassic Secret Br, under jockey Jake Samuels, led wire-to-wire defeating Flyin Lion by half-a-length in the $12,900 Mount Hood Handicap (not black type) Sunday afternoon at Portland Meadows.

Saddled by owner-trainer Silvestre Sanguino, the daughter of Fantastic Corona Jr covered the 400 yards over a wet fast track in :19.860 seconds, a 105-speed index. It was the second consecutive win for the 4-year-old filly at the Pacific Northwest racetrack. She entered the Mount Hood off an allowance win on November 13.

Bred in California by Benny Rosset, from the Dash For Cash mare Stylish Secret, Klassic Secret Br has compiled a (17) 5-3-2 record and used the $6,450 Mount Hood winners' purse to boost her earnings to $20,553.

Multiple stakes winner Flyin Lion earned $3,225 for owner/breeders Mike and Sherry Reardon. Bill Hoburg conditions the 6-year-old daughter of Panther Mountain out of Flaming Cynthia by Rocket's Magic. Ridden by jockey Francisco Diaz-Lopez, the Washington-bred mare has earned $85,108.

Gary Chumbley's Oregon homebred Sneakin Tr finished a neck back in third-place under jockey Kassie Guglielmino. Scott Raley saddled the Tr Dasher gelding out of Sneak Bac by Splash Bac. The multiple stakes-placed 5-year-old has earned $31,567.

Lil Touch Of Dixie, For Sweet Jess, Secretly Fast, Bh Country Chrome, Wrap You Up, L Bar D Sweet Fantsy, Chicks R Gone and Sissis Little Nipper completed the field.
