Facing Headwinds, So Knud Posts Best Training Race Time Thursday At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—FEBRUARY 16, 2017—The third afternoon of training race activity in 2017 at Remington Park was the first to challenge horses by running into a southerly headwind. So Knud won the first race of nine and posted the best time over 250 yards in the process.

Owned by Jose Mora on Bonner Springs, Kan. and trained by Guillermo Valdivia, So Knud covered the distance in :13.524 seconds over a fast track, winning by one length with no challenge from any of his six rivals. Rolando Raudales was aboard the 2-year-old gelding. RPTrain17b.jpg So Knud is a North Dakota-bred by Knud With Wings from the Mr Eye Opener mare Eyes So Classy.

Trainer Eddie D. Willis saddled the Tres Seis filly for owner James Sills. The sorrel filly, an $18,000 Heritage Place Sale graduate, posted the second fastest clocking of :13.59 seconds. She is out of the grade 2 producing Corona Cartel mare Elegant Debut.

Weetona Lefawn, a $27,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling repurchase, held on for the third fastest clocking of :13.60 seconds. Owned-and-trained by Dustin Cox, the Valiant Hero filly is a half-sister to Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity winner Im A Fancy Pyc. Cox also campaigned Im A Fancy Pyc.
