TUCSON, AZ—FEBRUARY 25, 2017—Kool Kue Fire rallied to get up by a nose over Jlt Especiallyforyou in the $3,600 Felipe D. & Sixta Pinedo Memorial (not black type) Saturday at Rillito Park. Runaway Jesse finished a nose back in a blanket finish to take third place.

Ridden by jockey Larry Gamez the 5-year-old son of champion sire Walk Thru Fire completed the 440 yards in :21.860 seconds, a 105-speed index. It was the first win in 24 career starts for the LMG Racing owned gelding.

Trainer Danny Hernandez conditions the brown gelding out of Kool Kue Chick by Chicks Beduino. Bred in California by Steve Burns, DVM, Kool Kue Fire picked up $1,980 to bring his earnings total to $44,970.

Jockey Carlos Marquez had the riding call aboard Jjt Especiallyforyou for owner Pinedo Brothers Quarter Horses and trainer Jess Pinedo. Jacque J. Tanton bred the son of One Famous Eagle in Texas from the This Snow Is Royal mare Ms Especially Snow. He earned $720 for the second-place effort.

Runawayjesse races for owner Pedro Medina and trainer Juan Figueroa. David Reyes-Frisby rode the Jesse James Jr New Mexico bred from the Real Runaway winner Runawaywithitall. Bred by Carlos Paez, Runawayjesse picked up $360 for third.

Hc One Hot Chick, Eyesa Angel, Al Ultimo Cartucho, Big Time Thriller and Rabbits Rocket completed the field.
