Sister Carver Cruises To Training Race Win At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 2, 2017— Clint Crawford, the two-time defending leading trainer at Remington Park, appears to have plenty of talent in his barn set for the 2017 season. Thursday afternoon he sent Sister Carver to a solid training race victory and the fastest time of the session.

Owned by Rodney Verret of Sunset, La. and ridden by formerly retired jockey G.R. Carter, Sister Carver roared in the ninth and final training race on Thursday. The Oklahoma-bred 2-year-old filly won under a hand-ride, covering the 250 yards in :13.457 seconds over a fast track.

Sister Carver is a daughter of world champion Wave Carver from the Jessa Leaving You mare Mr Jess Perry. The $45,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale purchase easily moved past her rival from her outside post to win by a length. Sister Carver competed into a very slight headwind of 6mph, under sunny skies with temperatures in the low 60s.

Duke Schults saddled My Southern Dynasty to the second fastest time of :13.54 seconds in Race 3. The son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty was hustled to the lead under urging then held his position to win. Dunn Ranch owns the brown colt out of Southern Fling by Southern Cartel.

Oklahoma homebred Admiral Sting rallied with a nice late run to gain a neck advantage in the 8th race for owner/breeder Jahree Standrige. Luis Villafranco conditions the colt by leading sire Apollitical Jess from the Strawfly Special mare Sting Scorpion Sting.

Jess Cuda Suda Wuda won for first crop sire Jess Lips in Race 7. Other sires with race winners were One Dashing Eagle, Pyc Paint Your Wagon, One Famous Eagle, and Sixes Liaison.
