Remington Park continued schooling races today (Wednesday) with an 11 race card that included nine races for 2-year-olds.

Streakin Seis Corona Is Much The Best During Remington Park Training Races

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 15, 2017—The 2017 American Quarter Horse Season is underway at Remington Park but training races continued on Wednesday with Streakin Seis Corona posting the best effort.

Owned by Terry & Irene Stennett of Odessa, Texas, Streakin Seis Corona is trained by Trey Wood and was ridden by Edwuin Lujan.

The 2-year-old gelding flew from the starting gate quickly, then dueled for the lead while completely hand-ridden before pulling away. Streakin Seis Corona crossed the finish in :13.383 seconds over a fast track for 250 yards.

An Oklahoma-bred son of Tres Seis from the Corona Cartel mare Streakin Cash Corona, Streakin Seis Corona put up the best time of the day into an 8mph headwind. The training races were conducted under sunny skies with temperatures in the high 40s.

Peves Candy Man Dan, a gelding by Cartels Candy Man from the Mr Eye Opener mare Eye On The Candy, finished second to Streakin Seis Corona while holding on to the second fastest clocking of :13.41 seconds.

The bay gelding, a homebred for owner/breeder Gordon Pevehouse, jumped out sharply to contend with Streakin Seis Corona but settled for second well clear of the third-place finisher. Clinton Crawford is the colt's trainer.

One Lucky Corona broke on the front along the rail in Race 7. The daughter of third crop sire One Sweet Jess was asked to keep the position and held for a three-quarter length win while recording the third fastest time of :13.45 seconds. AQHA Racing Champion trainer Judd Kearl saddled the Heritage Place Yearling Sale $8,000 repurchase for owner Dr. Curtis Smith. She is a half-sister to Speedhorse Futurity(G2) winner Cashing Teller from the G1-placed Agouti mare Teller Shes Lucky.

In the final race (10) for 2-year-olds, Nancy McCoy's homebred Pyc Paint Your Wagon filly, NSM Strong Heart, moved to the front with a tap from her rider then was put in hand the final half the race while cursing to victory. Charley Hunt conditions the brown filly out of Grade 2 Kansas Futurity winner Jessthelouisianagirl by Mr Jess Perry, a sister to multiple G1 sire/champion Jess Louisiana Blue.

Trey Wood led all trainers with two winners on Wednesday. Others saddling winners were Ed Hardy, Felipe Martinez, Clint Crawford, David Brown, Stacy Charette-Hill and bonnie Wilson.

Second crop sire/world champion One Dashing Eagle led all sires with two winners. Other stallions with 2-year-old winners on Wednesday's schooling card were High Rate Of Return, Brace For Bernal, FDD Dynasty, Humbaba Cowboy and Dash Ta Fame.

Remington Park now moves into its normal Thursday thru Sunday weekly schedule with racing this week from March 16-19. The first race is 6pm nightly except Sunday afternoon when the action is underway at 1:30pm.
