Jzoomin Scoot Starts This Year Like He Ended Last Year With A Win Around The Turn

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 31, 2017—Jzoomin Scoot ended his 2016 campaign in October with an 870-yard win around the turn, scoring at Will Rogers Downs in Claremore, Okla.

Friday night at Remington Park, the 5-year-old gelding started his 2017 season, winning again around the turn at 870 yards.

Owned by Wootan Racing of Llano, Texas and trained by Gerald Reed, Jzoomin Scoot was ridden by Cody Wainscott in the $20,000-level claiming race for runners in search of their third career win.

That ability enabled Jzoomin Scoot to maintain his line and advantage to the finish to win by 1-1/4 lengths. Out The Gate Doin 98 rallied to cut into the winner’s margin down the stretch, finishing second. Highway was two lengths behind the winner in third.

Jzoomin Scoot was at 4-1 odds in the wagering and paid $10 to win, $5.60 to place and $3.80 to show. Out The Gate Doin 98 returned $7.20 to place and $4.40 to show. Highway paid $5.60 to show. Sweet Special Cash was the beaten betting favorite at 2-1 odds, finishing sixth.

A son of Jess Zoomin from the Zip Cash mare Scootan Wootan, Jzoomin Scoot won his third race from 14 lifetime attempts. It was his first win at Remington Park. The winner’s share of $9,893 boosted his overall earnings to $36,478.
