OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 9, 2017—A total of six trials were conducted Sunday afternoon to determine the field for the $305,400 Remington Park Derby(RG3). The qualifiers came from three of the trials led by Dicecapades who won the initial heat.
Owned by Terry McLean of Claremore, Okla. and trained by Gerry McLean, Dicecapades kept her perfect Remington Park record in tact by winning her fourth race in Oklahoma City, is as many attempts.
Jockey James Flores guided the 3-year-olf filly home, crossing the 400-yard finish in 20.069 seconds over a fast track.
All six of the trials were conducted into southerly headwinds, ranging from 24 to 26mph.
Dicecapades was making her first start of 2017. She won three consecutive races at Remington Park to begin her career in 2016, including stakes triumphs in the Laico Bird Stakes and the FL Lady Bug Stakes, both for Oklahoma-breds.

Dustin Cox conditions the Valiant Hero gelding out of Ferarri Fast Prize, by Mr Jess Perry. Bred by Weetona Stanley and W.E. Smith the brown gelding has earned $247,087.
Ruidoso Juvenile winner Apollitical Scout won the fifth trial (race 6) by a head over As And Js to get the fourth fastest time of :20.162 seconds.
Clinton Crawford saddled the Apollitical Jess filly for owners Preston and Karen Cloud. Bred by Dan and Louise Jones, the sorrel filly compiled an (8) 2-4-1 record and has earned $75,500. She is out of the Corona Cartel mare Swingin Cartel.

Erika Huitron trains the sorrel gelding for owner Ruben Garcia Montemayor. The two-time stakes winner was bred by Dee and Betty Raper from the Mr Eye Opener mare Satisfeyen. He has earned nearly $320,000.
Trainers Gerry McLean and Guillermo Valdivia each qualified a pair for the Remington Park Derby. McLean had Dicecapades and 10th qualifier in Political Bliss. Valdivia saddled Eye Eye Captain and Cartel Envy.
The Remington Park Derby is for eligible 3-year-old Oklahoma-breds and will be contested on the undercard of the $1,032,400 Remington Park Futurity on April 22.

Remington Park’s 2017 American Quarter Horse Season continues with a shortened week of activity on April 13-15. The first race nightly is at 6pm-Central. There will be no live racing on Easter Sunday, April 16.
