In Class Wins Saturday Allowance Feature At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—APRIL 15, 2017—Saturday's $19,360 allowance feature at Remington Park was taken by In Class who rolled from his outside No. 10 post position to win the 350-yard race by three-quarters of a length.

  Owned and bred in Texas by Sissie and Bob McClure of Gardendale, Texas, In Class is trained by Harvey Baeza and was ridden by Berkley Packer.

The 3-year-old gelding won his first race of the year after running third in his season debut at Remington Park in mid-March. In Class covered the distance in :17.676 seconds over a fast track with Copy Me Daddy finishing second, a nose ahead of third-place finisher BV King George.

  In Class was at 11-1 odds in the betting and paid $24.40 to win, $6.20 to place and $7.40 to show. Copy My Daddy paid $4.60 to place and $3.40 to show. BV King George paid $10.60 to show. High Speed Kitty was the beaten wagering favorite at 2-1 odds, finishing fifth.

  In Class is by Jesse James Jr from the Now I Know mare Shez Classy Now. He won his third career race from eight attempts and his first career victory at Remington Park. The winner’s share of $11,130 boosts the lifetime earnings for In Class to $24,186.

  The Saturday night program of 12 races had only one betting favorite win. Princess of Torts, at 3-5 odds, won the 12th and final race while breaking her maiden status and giving the wagering favorites their only win of the night.

  There will be no live racing on Easter Sunday, April 16. The Remington Park season continues Thursday thru Sunday, April 20-23. Sunday, April 23 features the annual Extreme Racing program with Clydesdales, Camels, Zebras, Ostriches, Miniature Donkeys and Pigs all in competition in between the actual horse races. The action on Sunday, April 23begins at 1pm. Extreme Racing is presented by the Oklahoma Quarter Horse Racing Association.
