SOUTH JORDAN, UT—MAY 27, 2017—Stakes winner Sb Hoonigan rolled to a three-length win Saturday afternoon on his way to setting the fastest qualifying time for the Beehive Futurity at Laurel Brown Racetrack.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from eight 350-yard trial races, will return to the Utah racing oval on Saturday, June 17th to vie for the winners' share of an $80,000-est. purse.

Ridden by jockey Jesus Canales, Sb Hoonigan was the day's biggest wire-to-wire winner. He completed the task in :17. 394 seconds to earn a career high 106 speed index with a 10 mph tailwind. Alvaro Torres conditions the Utah homebred for owner-breeder Steve Berry.

The son of leading first crop sire Jr Dynasty Mountain came into the trials off a win in the Hadley/Giles Memorial Futurity at Weber Downs on May 6th. Out of the Splash Bac mare, Be Bac Later, he is a perfect 3-for-3 this season and has earned $30,308.

Making his first career start for owner-trainer Chad Giles, Jaggersfadedblujeans flew from the gate in the sixth trail under Oscar Cervantes . The son of Class Jump completed the 350 yards in :17.521 seconds, a 102-speed index with a 10 mph tailwind, to secure the second fastest qualifying time.

Giles is also the breeder on the gray Utah-bred from the Dash For Chivato mare Cr Blue Jeans.

In the final trial Fiery Fury defeated Winners Runaway by one-length to earn the third fastest clocking of :15.594, a 99-speed index with a 10 mph tailwind.

Trainer Jere Brinkehoff saddled the California-bred to his second win as many starts for himself and co-owners Les and Kim Sweeting. Steve Burns DVM bred the One Sweet Jess gelding from the Buzz Word mare Firebaugh Filly. He entered the trials off a maiden victory at Weber Downs on May 6th.

Winners Version got four Beehive finalists and first crop sire Jr Dynasty Mountain sired three qualifiers.
