LOS ALAMITOS, CA—MAY 28, 2017—Wild Wonder has been Mr. Wonderful so far in his two career starts.

Owned by partnership consisting largely of Orange County residents, Wild Wonder posted another stellar victory when the gelding by Stel Corona out of the solid producer California Wildfire won an allowance event here on Sunday night.

Ridden by Jesus Rios Ayala for trainer Charles Treece, Wild Wonder covered the 300 yards in :15.487, the second fastest time posted by a freshman this season, bettered only by Fire And Sass’ :15.466 when he won the Kindergarten Futurity on May 14.

Leaving the gate from post three, Wild Wonder broke out and bumped, but he quickly recovered and cruised to the wire for his second win in as many starts. His next start will come in the Governor’s Cup Futurity trials on July 8.

Out of the productive broodmare California Wildfire, Wild Wonder is a full brother to Golden State Million Futurity and Governor’s Cup Futurity finalist Chicanery. He’s also a half-brother to major futurity finalists More Than Wild and Big Time Wild.

He won his maiden race with easily on April 9, as the Ed Allred-bred runner finished strongly to score a 1 ¼ length win against six boys in a time of :15.569.

Two races, two wins and two quick times. He’s been Mr. Wonderful so far.
