FARMINGTON, NM—JUNE 2, 2017—Making her first career start, Beyond 15 blew her completion away by winning the last of four trails to the Four Corners Futurity by 1-1/2 lengths Friday afternoon at SunRay Park.
Her time of :17.168 seconds, a 99-speed index with a 6-mph tailwind, was the fastest from 29 juveniles who went to the post.
The 350-yard $80,000-est. Four Corners Futurity finals, for two-year-olds Quarter Horses, will contested on Sunday, June 18th.
Beyond 15 blew away from the gate out of the one-hole and quickly day-lighted the field before jockey Jose Enriquez wrapped her up to cruise to an easy win in near track-record time. Trainer Shae Cox conditions the daughter of champion sire Desirio for owner Diamond Racing Stables.
Walter "Dick" Harrison bred the $8,000 Heritage Place September Yearling graduate. She is the first foal from the Feature Mr Jess mare Featuring Senorita, a half-sister to Oklahoma Derby winner Politically Correct and Harris County 550 winner Brookestone Grey.
Seminole Senator ran the best of three-race career with a second-place effort to the fastest qualifier that garnered the second fastest clocking of :17.402 seconds, a 92-speed index.
Trainer Justin Joiner saddled the first of his two finalists for the partnership of Joe David Yates, Richard Young, Richard Sturdevant and Terry Wootan.
Seminole Senator, an Oklahoma-bred son of Louisiana Senator is out of the Holland Ease mare Overeasy Annie. Wootan Racing bred the $40,000 Heritage Place September Yearling Sale graduate.
Marissa, a $22,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, broke her maiden in the first trial to get the third fastest time of :17.673 seconds. Arturo Chavez conditions the Corona Cartel filly for owner Tomas Avitia.
McColee Land & Livestock LLC bred the bay filly in Utah from the Tres Seis mare Tres Of Linda. She entered the trials off a fourth-place maiden effort at SunRay Park on April 21st.
