EDMONTON, ALB—AUGUST 30, 2017—Bringonthewave kept his record a perfect 3-for-3 when he defeated stakes winner Mr Eleanor by half-a-length to set the fastest qualifying time in Wednesday's Alberta-Bred Futurity trials at Northlands Park.

The eight fastest qualifiers will return to the Edmonton racecourse on Saturday, September 16th to vie for the winners' share of a $45,000-added purse for Alberta-bred 2-year-olds going 330 yards.

Coming off a win in the $18,507(US) Jerry Stojan Memorial on July 23, Bringonthewave rallied early then held under jockey Ramiro Castillo to post the top qualifying time of :17.059 seconds, a 91-speed index into a 4-mph headwind.

Trainer James Doolin saddled the three-time winning son of world champion Wave Carver for owner Dale Zukowski. The gray gelding, bred by Shady Lane Stables, has earned $12,515 this season. He is out of the Corona Cartel mare Special Corona.

The four fastest qualifiers came from the opening trial including Mr Eleanor who got the second fastest clocking of :17.163 seconds.

Coming off a win in the $40,206(US) Alberta Stallion Stakes on July 19, Mr Eleanor is a homebred son of leading Canadian sire First Timer. Owned-and-bred by Tegan Goodsell, the bay gelding is conditioned by Allen Goodsell.

J.B. Botello had the riding assignment aboard the $23,886 earner. Mr Eleanor is out of the Separatist mare Lets Get Going.
