ALTOONA, IA—OCTOBER 14, 2017—In a powerful performance on a sloppy, sealed track, fastest qualifier A Jordon Reed scored a one-length victory in the $289,830 Valley Junction Futurity at Prairie Meadows on Saturday night. The Jumpn Chic gelding and jockey Oscar Delgado posted a final time of 17.322 for 350 yards to earn a 103 speed index.

Ed Hardy trains A Jordon Reed ($4.80) for owners the Kendrix Brothers. The connections began A Jordon Reed’s career at Remington, where he broke his maiden in his second lifetime start. From there, he went to Canterbury Park, where he qualified for and won the $167,600 Mystic Lake Northlands Futurity.

A Jordon Reed has never been out of the money in his six lifetime starts, and has won his last three races. With his win in the Valley Junction, he has $215,728 in career earnings.

The Kendrix Brothers also bred A Jordon Reed, in Oklahoma, out of the Corona for Me mare Parr for Me.

John Hammes-trainee Makit Snappi led the rest of the field to finish second. Makit Snappi was ridden by Ramiro Garcia for owner Charles Mitchek.

Bobby Cox bred the 2-year-old filly in Oklahoma, by One Dashing Eagle, out of Duck Mea Running, by Tour de Kas. She was the third fastest qualifier from trials held on September 30.

Makit Snappi broke her maiden in her trial win for the Valley Junction final, but has also finished second in four of her six lifetime starts.

Pv Queen Bee Candy chased from the outside of the track to finish third for trainer Clinton Crawford and owner and breeder Gordon Pevehouse. Omar Reyes was aboard. The Oklahoma-bred filly is by Cartels Candy Man and is out of Ima Lazie Too, by Okey Dokey Dale.

Completing the field were Eagle Deluxe, The Most High Rules, Bootn Scootn Corona, Perfect Lota, Apollitical Valor and Estrella De Noche.
