ROCKY VIEW COUNTY, ALB—OCTOBER 21, 2017—Multiple stakes winner Free Thoughts was away alertly then held to defeat Big Hoss Rollin by 1-˝ lengths in the $12,831(US) Century Downs 770 Stakes Saturday afternoon.
Ridden by jockey Ricardo Moreno the 6-year-old son of multiple stakes sire Stel Corona covered the 770 yards on a fast track in :40.273 seconds, a 102-speed index into an 8-mph crosswind.
Free Thoughts was bred in California from the Pritzi Dash mare Just Think.
Runner-up Big Hoss Rollin races for owner-trainer Deanne Davies. Freddy Fuentes rode the Alberta bred son of Zillas Spin Doctor. Sazwan Speed Horses bred the stakes winner from the Dashing Val mare Sables Val. He earned $3,3359(US) for the effort.
Barry and Janice Sather's homebred Tequila Tuesday finished a head back in the show position. Jockey Juan Ramon Gonzalez had the riding call for trainer Janice Sather. The 5-year-old stakes-placed son of Coronas Fast Dash is out Keep On Keepin On by Dash To Chivato. He picked up $1,540(US) for third.
Stole Away, Wanna Be Fierce, Dashin Moonlark Dot, Asbigastexas and Birdzillas Charm completed the field.
