PHOENIX, AZ—OCTOBER 28, 2017—In her first official start, La Manzanita Sweet drove to a three-quarter length win and the top qualifying time for the Turf Paradise Maiden Stakes (not black type) Saturday afternoon at Turf Paradise.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from two trial races, will return to Turf Paradise Saturday, November 11th to vie for the winner's share of a $5,000-added purse going 350 yards.

Owned-and-trained by Adalberto Hernandez, La Manzanita Sweet raced over the 350-yard course in :17.880 seconds, a 90-speed index into a 9-mph headwind.

Jockey Emilio Tapia was aboard the 4-year-old daughter of Heza Motor Scooter from the Righter mare Dashing Righter.

Six qualifiers came from the opening trial including the four fastest.
