Pv Queen Bee Candy Handily Sets Top Mark in Mystery Futurity Trials

CLAREMORE, OK—OCTOBER 29, 2017—Staring off a third-place effort in the Valley Junction Futurity on October 14th, Pv Queen Bee Candy won handily under jockey Omar Reyes Sunday afternoon while setting the fastest qualifying time for the $186,892 Mystery Futurity at Will Rogers Downs.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to the Northeastern Oklahoma racetrack on Saturday, November 11th and vie for the $75,256 winner's purse going 350 yards.

A daughter of third-crop sire Cartels Candy Man, Pv Queen Bee Candy completed her 350-yard task in :17.591 seconds, winning by 2 ¾ lengths and earning a 94-speed index. Out of the Okey Dokey Dale mare Ima Lazie Too, Pv Queen Bee has compiled a (6) 3-2-1 record and banked nearly $80,000 this year.

FL Lady Bug Stakes winner Pv Queen Bee Candy was the first of two Mystery Futurity qualifiers trainer Clinton Crawford saddled for owner/breeder Gordon Pevehouse.

The owner-trainer and jockey trio also got fifth fastest qualifier Peves Candy Man Dan, a gelding by Cartels Candy Man from the Mr Eye Opener mare Eye On The Candy.

Express Train No 9 got his third win in the closing trial with a neck effort over the aforementioned Peves Candy Man Dan to set the second fastest time of :17.675 seconds, a 92-speed index.

Jockey Paul Nieto had the riding assignment aboard the Freighttrain B filly for owner Jessica Perez and trainer Pedro Martinez. Bred by Kenneth Norman, from the Whirling Fastball mare Wildfire Express Two, the bay filly was fifth in the Grade 3 Speedhorse Futurity over the summer. She has earned $32,612.

Trainer Eddie D. Willis saddled Grade 1 Rainbow Futurity finalist Painted Wine Wagon to a three-quarter length win in the fifth trial for owner Larry Rice. Jimmy Brooks rode the daughter of Pyc Paint Your Wagon to the third fastest clocking of :17.705 seconds, a 91-speed index.

Flag Ranch LLC bred the brown filly from the Mr Jess Perry mare Mr Perrys Wine. She has banked more than $76,200 this season.

Furrget Me Not won a shake with Vf Adreneline Rush after each posted a :17.808 clocking to tie for the 10th fastest time.
