L Bar D Razle Dazle Draws Off In Far West Futurity Win

PORTLAND OR—OCTOBER 30, 2017—L Bar D Razle Dazle, under jockey Jake Samuels, bumped at the start then drew off to defeat One For The Brothers by one-length in the $31,550 Far West Futurity this afternoon (Monday) at Portland Meadows. Morning Brew finished a nose back for third.

Trainer Hector Magallanes saddled the 1-2 finishers in the 350-yard event for 2-year-old Quarter Horses.

L Bar D Razle Dazle, a son of Ragazzo, races for owners Tryn Espelien and Hernan Torres. Bred in Oregon by Darrel and Linda Sanders, L Bar D Razle Dazle came to Portland Meadows as a maiden from four previous starts but got his first win in the October 16 trials.

Out of the Strawfly Special mare Dash Home Deb, L Bar D Razle Dazle picked up $12,620 for the win to boost his earnings total to $16,785.

Magallans also saddled K & R Allred Ranch LLC's One For The Brothers, a royally-bred son of leading sire One Famous Eagle from the First Down Dash mare One Sweet Dash. Ridden by Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa, the sorrel colt broke his maiden October 2nd at Portland after two off-the-board performances in Ruidoso.

Bred in Arizona by Allred Brothers Ranch LLC, One For The Brothers picked up $5,364 for the effort.

The lightly-raced Morning Brew bounced off a fourth-place effort in the trials to earn her black-type in just her second career start for owner Jose Juan Baca. Tiffani McDevitt trains the Louisiana-bred daughter of Agouti out of Jess Takin Off by Take Off Jess. Robert Burney rode the Delta Equine Center bred filly earning $3,470.

Completing the field were Diva Has It, Heza Eagle, Deal A Ace Of Spades, Teccate and Three Dashin Bye. Okey Dokey Road was scratched.

Racing resumes Tuesday with a 12 noon post time (Pacific).
