CLAREMORE, OK—NOVEMBER 4, 2017—Hardtoget, under jockey James Flores, jumped out to quick lead then held off Ja Big Bad Gol to win the $37,500 Jerry Jaggars Memorial Stakes Saturday afternoon at Will Rogers Downs. Gronkowski finished another 1-¼ lengths back in third.
Saddled by trainer John Werghorst, Hardtoget raced over the 350 yards in :17.449 seconds, a 98-speed index, to pick up the winner's purse of $22,230.
Owned by Louis Malachek, III, the 4-year-olds daughter of multiple stakes sire Foose, has compiled a (14) 6-2-2 record and banked $72,555. Jim and Marilyn Helzer bred the bay filly in Oklahoma from the Corona Cartel mare Tiny Corona Queen.
Joe Allen bred the graded stakes-placed gelding in Texas from the Mr Jess Perry mare Ja Free Bird. Ridden by Daniel Torres, Ja Big Bad Gol has earned $4,076.
Victory Farms' royally bred Gronkowski earned $4.076 for third. Kasey Willis trains the Walk Thru Fire colt out of Babe On The Fly by Strawfly Special. Jockey Omar Reyes was aboard the Steve D. Burns DVM California-bred 3-year-old. He has banked $72,539.
Sexy And I Know It B, Llano Senator, Vf Wheely Cute, Bye Byefreighttrain, Bout Tree Fiddy, Capshaw Cappo and Dicecapades completed the field.
