Foolish Outlaw Overcomes Start To Post Top Training Race Time At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK--FEBRUARY 15, 2018--Remington Park conducted a dozen training races on Thursday with Foolish Outlaw posting the fastest 250-yard time of the day.

Overcoming a slight hop at the start, Foolish Outlaw quickly found his stride and went to the lead once underway from his inside, rail post position. Under urging from jockey Raul Ramirez during the last half of the race, Foolish Outlaw pulled away to win by one length in :13.87 seconds over a fast track.

Trained by Wes Giles, Foolish Outlaw is an Oklahoma-bred 2-year-old colt by Jesse James Jr from the Dash Ta Fame mare Chain Of Fools. The colt's effort was into a southerly headwind of 19mph. Owner Guerras Racing Stable paid $14,000 for the colt at the September Heritage Place Yearling in Oklahoma City.

Trainer Clinton Crawford saddled Oklahoma homebred Ivory By Choice to the second fastest time in the first race. The son of Ivory James from the Regal Choice mare Her Sweet Choice recorded at :13.93 clocking.

Crawford was joined by Luis Villafranco as the only trainers with more than one win, each posting two on Thursday. Crawford also saddled Easton Blue to victory in Race 8. Villafranco saddled Scaredy Pants in Race 4 and Runaway Diabla in Race 2.

Other sires getting winners on Thursday's training card were Apollitical Jess, Brace For Bernal, Capo de Capi, Dominyun, Duke Kahanmoku, Heza Awesome Blue, Iteska Boy, Sf Royal Quick Flash and Valiant Hero.

The 12 training races were conducted with temperatures reaching the low 80s and into headwinds ranging from 18 to 20mph.

The 2018 American Quarter Horse, Paint and Appaloosa Season at Remington Park starts with a weekend of activity Friday, March 9 thru Sunday, March 11. The first race on Opening Night, March 9 is at 6pm. The first race on Saturday, March 10 starts at 4pm. Sunday action on March 11 is underway at 1:30pm.

The Remington Park season will continue thru June 2 with a total of 50 race dates scheduled.
