SUNLAND PARK, NM—MARCH 30, 2018—Shuefly Stakes(RG3) winner Everyuddys Talkin broke in at the start under jockey Raul Herrera but recovered to hold off Daddys Copy by a neck in the $85,000 Sunburst Stakes Saturday afternoon at Sunland Park Racetrack & Casino.
Saddled by trainer Ricardo Armendariz, Everybuddys Talkin completed the 350 yards in :17.466 seconds to earn a 91-speed index with a 14-mph tailwind.
It was the second career win and second stakes win for the daughter of multiple stakes sire Gonna Ro Sham Bo. The $51,000 winners' purse boosted the brown filly's earnings total to $163,335.
Owned by Eric Pineda, Everybuddys Talkin was bred in New Mexico from Kat Kora by The Trader's Echo (TB). Derrell Riggan is the breeder.
Another Big Daddy Cartel 3-year-old, Dolly Cartel, finished a nose back in the blanket finish to take third. Fernando Rascon trains the homebred filly, out of Dolly Little Bug by Strawflyin Buds, for owner Fernando Rascon, Jr. Ridden by jockey Daniel Amaya, Dolly Cartel picked up $8,500 for the effort.
Sixth-place finisher Flashininthefastlane was disqualified for interference and placed night. Completing the official order of finish were Cadilac Flash, Jessa Diva, Masons Moon, Regard The Rose, Frangellica, Flashininthefastlane and Two Wines.
