One Two, Logans Favorite Battle For Top Mark in Rocky Mountain Futurity Trials
One Two (#5) holds off Logans Favorite (#2) to the fastest qualifying time in Friday's Rock Mountain Futurity trials at Arapahoe Park.

One Two, Logans Favorite Battle For Top Mark in Rocky Mountain Futurity Trials

AURORA, CO—JUNE 1, 2018—One Two battled Logans Favorite to the wire Friday afternoon to get a head win and the fastest qualifying time for the Rocky Mountain Futurity at Arapahoe Park.

The ten fastest qualifiers, from three trial races, will return to Arapahoe Park on Saturday, June 16th to vie the winner's purse in a 330-yard event for 2-year-old Quarter Horses.

Ridden by jockey Cerapio Figueroa, One Two was breaking her maiden in her second career start while completing the 330 yards in :16.768 seconds, a 98 speed index with an 18 mph tailwind.

Saddled by trainer Jose Villafranco, the daughter of multiple stakes sire One Sweet Jess entered the trials off a third-place finish for a $15,000 tag at Remington Park April 20.

Margarito Montalvo owns the Colorado-bred filly from the Ivory James mare Im Hayley Two. Bill and Marsha Drake are breeders.

The aforementioned Logans Favorite, on of two finalists sired by multiple stakes sire Favorite Cartel, held on for the second fastest qualifying time of :16.787, a 97 speed index.

The California-bred filly, trained by Eliazar Salas, was off a step-slow but finished well under jockey Daniel Valles. Cesar Nunez owns the two-time starter from the Toast To Dash mare Logans Dash. M & G Farms, Inc. is the breeder.

Invite A Favor, another daughter of Favorite Cartel, posted the biggest win in the second trial under jockey Roberto Valero. The sorrel Colorado-bred defeated Beyond Speed by 1-˝ lengths to record the third fastest time of :16.793 seconds, a 97-speed index.

It was the second start and first win for the Jose Villafranco trainee who also came out of a $20,000 Claimer on April 14th at Remington Park. Also owned by Margarito Montalvo and bred by Bill and Marsha Drake, Invite The Favor is out of the Mighty Invictus mare Inviting Snow.
