SHELBYVILLE, IN—JUNE 2 2018—Daddys Moe and Jockey Jose Beltran turned in the quickest time in three trials to set up the $100,000 Jaguar Rocket Futurity Final slated for Saturday, June 16. A total of 27 horses vied for a spot among the top 10 to return for the final.

Daddys Moe was the dominant force of the second trial of the night. The Carters Cartel gelding rolled out of the gate with speed and never looked back, fending off a fast closing Rarely A Tres and Cesar Esqueda for the win by a margin of a neck in a time of :15.500. Yadi1 and Aron Hunt also closed well to finish third.

Smith also saddled the winner of the first trial of the night for the Jaguar Rocket. CoronadosQuiksilver and Beltran broke well and were in contention early on, but had to fight to regain the top spot late in the 300-yard dash, overtaking Hooked On Jordan and Luis Guerrero by one-half length in a time of :15.643 seconds.

Dominyun Cartel and Shanley Jackson overcame a troubled trip along the inside to finish third.

CoronadosQuiksilver is now two for two in her brief career. The daughter of leading first-crop sire Coronado Cartel is owned and bred by Gordon Timm of Michigan.

The final trial of the night brought an exciting finish as Get Used to Me and Cesar Esqueda rallied late in the race to win a very tight photo with Jesslikethat and Jose Rodriguez at the wire. The nose victory was credited to Get Used to Me in a time of :15.777 seconds. RK The Magician and Giovani Vazquez-Gomez rounded out the top three.

Get Used to Me is owned and trained by Anthony Cunningham, who is also the trainer of third place finisher RK The Magician. It was the Corona Cartel colt’s first win in only his second start.
