Rustys Miracle Takes $100,000 Rainbow Juvenile

Rustys Miracle Takes $100,000 Rainbow Juvenile

RUIDOSO DOWNS, NM—JULY 22, 2018—In Sunday's $100,000 Rainbow Juvenile, for horses who did not qualify for the Rainbow Futurity, J & SM’s Rustys Miracle battled to a one-half length win over Symbol Of Faith and it was another nose back to third-place runner Eagles First.

Rustys Miracle showed her tenacity by holding on for the narrow win in :19.692 for the 400 yards. The Fred Danley-trained daughter of Valiant Hero was sixth in the $100,000 Ruidoso Juvenile and then won her Rainbow Futurity trial by one length.

Sergio Becerra, Jr. has ridden her in her latest four starts and returned with three wins. The $42,967 Rainbow Juvenile winners' purse increased the filly's earnings to $63,834.

A $61,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate, Rustys Miracle is a sister to 2012 Grade 1 Texas Classic Futurity winner Valiant Lil Lady. Bob and Jerry Gaston bred the sorrel filly in Texas from the Fredricksburg mare Rustys Lil Lady.

J. Garvin Kelly, Nancy Yearsley and Lloyd Yother’s homebred Symbol Of Faith finished a challenging second. The Tac It Like A Man-sired filly was fifth in the Grade 1, $1,025,000 Heritage Place Futurity at Remington Park. She then came to Ruidoso Downs and won her Rainbow Futurity trial by a nose with a late rush.

James Flores rode Symbol Of Faith for trainer Juan Aleman. Symbol Of Faith earned $18,414 to boost her earnings total to $88,757.

An Oklahoma-bred Symbol Of Faith is out of the Tres Seis mare Answer The Dream, who also produced Splendid Cause, third-place finisher in the Corona Cartel Stakes at Ruidoso Downs on Saturday.

Champion jockey G.R. Carter, Jr. had the riding call aboard third-place finisher Eagles First, a $20,000 Ruidoso Select graduate. Owned by SST Racing and trained by G. Blane Wood, she earned $10,230 to bring her earnings total to $15,030 in three starts this season.

The daughter of leading sire One Famous Eagle is out of the Grade-3 finalist Pyc First Prize, a sister to stakes winner and second-crop sire First Prize Doc. The second dam is former Broodmare of the Year First Prize Dash, a sister to all-time leading sire First Down Dash.

First Silk Dash, Far Right, Kamila, Easy Politician, Flying Eagle 07 and Tempting Stone completed the official order of finish. American Hussle was scratched.
