Carlos The Second Breaks Maiden, Sets Top Time in Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity Trials

AJAX, ONT—AUGUST 5, 2018—In just his second lifetime start, Carlos The Second broke his maiden in impressive fashion to post the top qualifying time for the Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity at Ajax Downs.

Carlos The Second dueled early then finished strong under jockey Ed Walton to win the first of two 330 yard trials by one-length. He completed the task in :17.420 seconds into 17 mph crosswind to set the top mark.

Trainer Jason Pascoe saddled the homebred son of Winners Version for owner-breeder Heste Sport, Inc. Out of the Okey Dokey Dale mare Chitchatin Okie, the gray gelding has earned $3,614 in two starts.

In the second trial (race 3), Perryfunnysteven got off slow under jockey Brian Bell but managed to get up in time to defeat Queens Award by nose, posting the second fastest clocking of :17.520 seconds.
