Dk First Frost Set Top Qualifying Time From Six Oneida County Fair Futurity Trials

MALAD CITY, ID—AUGUST 4, 2018— Dk First Frost, got off slow under jockey Raymundo Torres but rallied to win the last of five trials Saturday for the Oneida County Fair Futurity in Malad City, Idaho.

The multiple stakes qualifying son of first-crop sire Coronado Cartel completed the 300 yard task in :15.345 seconds, a 95 speed index, to set the top qualifying mark.

Trainer Jarrett Mills conditions the Idaho homebred for owner-breeder Don Knopp. Out of the Real Runaway mare, A Special First, Dk First Frost qualified to the Rocky Mountain Spring Classic Futurity and the Bitterroot Futurity Juvenile earlier this season. He has banked $3,085.

Mistyduino, a bay filly by Ettaduno, held off a late charge from Dust A Tac in the fourth trial to get the second fastest clocking of :15.379 seconds, a 94 speed index.

Racing for owner-breeder John Bankhead, Jr., Mistyduino is out of the Fish RR Man mare Misty Fish. Jose Figueroa had the riding call for trainer Guy Weeks. It was the filly's second win in four starts.

Multiple stakes winner Rob That Wagon posted a solid win in the opening trial to get the fifth fastest time of :15.411 seconds, a 93 speed index.

Coming off a win in the John Deere Sandy Downs Juvenile Challenge last month, Rob That Wagon is trained by Mark Hanson. RTM Stables LLC and Robin Dunn own the son of leading sire Pyc Paint Your Wagon who also won the $92,602 Bitterroot Futurity in June.

Bred in Texas by Bob and Jerry Gaston, from the First Down Dash mare First Tea Rose, Rob That Wagon has compiled a (7) 5-1-0 record and earned nearly $62,000 this season.

The eight fastest qualifiers, from the 37 2-year-old who participated in Saturday's five trial races, will return on Sunday, August 12th to vie for the winner's share of a $25,000-est. purse.
