GRAND PRAIRIE, TX—SEPTEMBER 29, 2018—On the inside, favorite Sf Hot Pass dueled gate to wire with The Golden Bowl on the outside, to prevail by a neck in the $20,000 Nevil Stakes.

That pair finished two-lengths in front of the rest of the field. Final time for the 350-yard contest was 17.319 over a track surface listed as good.

Trained by Leon Bard and owned by Shannon "Stormy" Fisher, Sf Hot Pass earned a speed index of 107 for the effort with the runner-up earning a 105.

Gianni Que was third followed by Tlc Dale in fourth. Dash Quick Perry finished fifth and Rc Mr Leaving You didn’t fire tonight and finished sixth. Hotscotch N Courage, Kw Cowboy and Potus completed the order.

Sf Hot Pass is a 5-year-old gelded son of multiple stakes sire Ivory James rom the Mr Jess Perry mare Passem Up Perry. Jockey Francisco Calderon was aboard to score the victory. Coming off a win in the TQHA Classic Stakes(G2) at Retama park in July, Sf Hot Pass earned $11,400 for the effort. He was bred by P & J Racing Ltd. and D. Strobel and has compiled a (13) 4-2-0 record and banked $54,530.

Fernando Lopez saddled runner-up The Golden Bowl for owner Rogelio Marquez, Jr. Luis Vivanco was aboard the Mr Eye Opener 6-year-old from the Dashin Bye mare First Dashin Bye. Jorge Meraz bred the graded stakes winner of over $57,770. He picked up $3,400 for tonight's performance.

Third-place finisher Gianni Que, a 4-year-old son of One Famous Gianni race for owner Sergio Guerrero and trainer Angel Sanchez. Luciano Duenez was aboard the Jose Espinosa Texas-bred from the Moon Shake mare Chalinashake. He earned $2,000.

Mutuels on the winner paid $4.40, $3.00 and $2.40. The Golden Bowl returned $7.00 and $5.80 for place and Gianni Que paid $4.40 for the show.

Live racing resumes next Friday, October 5 and features the $25,000 AQHA Distaff Challenge. Gates open at 5 p.m. First race post time is 6:05 p.m.

Saturday, October 6, features the Grade 2, $405,585 Dash For Cash Futurity, the Grade 3, $163,200 Dash For Cash Derby and the Dash For Cash Juvenile Stakes. A great night for top Quarter Horse racing you won’t want to miss!
