CLAREMORE, OK—NOVEMBER 10, 2018—Under a confident ride by jockey Andrew Samaniego, Might B Magic defeated Sr Shegone by half-a-length to win the $216,812 Oklahoma Horsemen's Association Mystery Futurity at Will Rogers Downs. Hr Desirable got out nodded to finish a nose back in third.
Conditioned by trainer Matthew Cody McCart, Might B Magic covered the 350 yards in :17.449 seconds, a 99 speed index over a "good" racing surface.
An Oklahoma homebred racing for owner/breeder Arthur Devereaux, the son of multiple stakes sire Mighty B Valiant has compiled a (7) 3-1-2 record and the $87,225 Mystery winners' purse today boosted the gelding's earnings total to $115,367. He is out of the Magic Cat (TB) mare Shes Perfect Magic.
Also by Mighty B Valiant, runner-up Sr Shegone races for owner/breeders Rick and Connie Dickson. Manual Almanza, Jr. saddled the brown filly out of the Spit Curl Jess mare Jessta Lil Spitfire.
R.L. Rick Robinson saddled third-place finisher Hr Desirable for owners Eric Sierra, John Yamaguchi and Kathy Robinson. The son of champion sire Desirio was ridden by jockey Agustin Silva.
Bred by Bobby and Vickie Hammers, from the Ivory James mare Scentsy, Hr Desirable earned $26,317 to double his earnings mark to $54,001.
Might B Magic rewarded his backers with a $50.80 win payoff, $17 to place and $7.40 to show. Sr Shegone returned $4.60 and $2.80 and Hr Desirable paid $6 to show.
My Take, American Dynasty, Sbm Aces Wild, Vf Jedi Returns, Tac N Dale, Watah Flash and Dm Shez Poppin Off completed the field.
