One Famous Icon Fastest In AQRA-Turf Paradise Open Futurity Trials, Guillen Qualifies Three

One Famous Icon Fastest In AQRA-Turf Paradise Open Futurity Trials, Guillen Qualifies Three

PHOENIX, AZ—NOVEMBER 18, 2018—One Famous Icon, a brother to champion and leading sire One Famous Eagle, broke his maiden Sunday under jockey Joseph Belloc, Jr., while setting the fastest qualifying time from three trials contested for the AQRA-Turf Paradise Open Quarter Horse Futurity.

The 10 fastest qualifiers will return to the Arizona racetrack on Sunday, December 9th to vie for the winner's share of a $17,500-addded purse going 400 yards.

The first of three qualifiers saddled Sunday by trainer Rigoberto Guillen, One Famous Eagle completed the 400 yards in :20.046 seconds, a 90 speed index. It was the first win in five starts this season for the Mr Jess Perry colt, however he was second in the AQRA Spring Fling Futurity last April.

One Famous Icon, a $107,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate, races for owner Yuriana Ramirez. He is out of the Chicks Beduino mare One Famous Lady.

Making her first start outside the Golden State, First Lady Perry defeated Ur My Favorite by a head in the opening trial to record the second fastest clocking of :20.072 seconds, into a 4 mph headwind.

Conditioned by trainer John Allred, the daughter of leading sire Mr Jess Perry races for owner Scott McDaniel. The $35,000 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale graduate is out of the Grade 1 producing Heza Fast Man mare First Lady Amber. Ridden by jockey Mark Jasso, it was the second win in six starts for the bay filly who broke her maiden at Los Alamitos in August.

Multiple stakes-placed Showmethedoe defeated Sassy Krystal by a head in the final trial to record the fifth fastest time of :20.095. Rigoberto Guillen conditions the son of All American Futurity(G1) winner No Secrets Here for owner/breeder Steve Berry.

The Utah homebred, out of Bundle Doe by Hennessy (TB), has compiled a 10 (3) 2-3 record this season and banked $27,863. He was second in the Utah Bred Futurity and third in the AQRA President's Fall Futurity this season.

Guillen also saddled runner-up Sassy Krystal to the sixth fastest time. Ricard Ramirez owns the daughter of leading sire Heza Fast Dash.
