PORTLAND, OR—NOVEMBER 25, 2018—A pair of two-year-olds owned by Connie Chumbley, conditioned by Scott Raley and ridden by veteran jockey Robert Burney were the top two qualifiers for the $20,000 Baxter Andruss Futurity Sunday afternoon at Portland Meadows.

The 10 fastest qualifiers from the two trial races will return to Portland Meadows on Sunday, December 16 to contest the 400 yard final.

Coming off a win in the $32,300 Far West Futurity earlier this month, Gc Harrys Game raced to his third consecutive win at Portland Meadows in the second trial. Jockey Robert Burney rode the son of Carters Cartel to a 1-˝ length win over Willy B Gone while stopping the clock in :20.059 seconds, a 98 speed index, to get the top qualifying time.

Bred in Oregon by Gary Chumbley Estate, from the Game Patriot mare Ez Gamer, Gc Harrys Game has compiled a (7) 3-0-2 record this season and earned $18,318.

In the opening trial Connie Chumbley's Ivory James filly Ivory Bac got away well under Burney then rushed the wire in the second fastest clocking of :20.243 seconds, a 93 speed index.

Also conditioned by Raley, the Gary Chumbley Estate homebred got her first career win in five starts this season. She is out of the Splash Bac mare Sneak Back.

Trainer Hector Magallanes saddled four qualifiers to the final including the aforementioned Willy Be Gone to the third fastest clocking of :20.285 seconds, a 92 speed index.

Chris Philbrook owns the son of multiple stakes sire Jess Louisiana Blue from the Splash Bac mare Time To Splash Bac. A finalist in the Pot O'Gold Futurity, Firecracker Futurity at Grants Pass and Far West Futurity, Willy Be Gone was bred by Michael and Shannon McKay. He has earned $9,017 this year.

Magallanes other qualifiers were 5th fastest L Bar D Top Prospect, 6th fastest Hawkin Sun and 9th fastest Kountry Fun.
