PORTLAND, OR—JANUARY 20, 2019—Gc Harrys Game, a 3-year-old son of multiple stakes sire Carters Cartel, dominated the $14,350 Gary Chumbley Stakes (not black type), a race named in honor of his breeder, on Sunday at Portland Meadows by defeating Willy B Gone by 2-¼ lengths.
Ridden by regular rider Robert Burney, the 3-year-old gelding completed the 350 yards over a sloppy racecourse in :17.702 seconds, earning a 104 speed index in the rain.
Conditioned by trainer Scott Raley, Cg Harrys Game entered the race off a third-place effort in his last start—the $30,115 Baxter Andruss Oregon-Bred Futurity last month. Prior to that he had strung together three consecutive wins that included the Far West Futurity at Portland Meadows.

Runner-up Willy B Gone races for owner Chris Philbrook and trainer Hector Magallanes. Ridden by jockey Eduardo Gutierrez-Sosa, the Jess Louisiana Blue gelding put in a game effort to pickup $3,587 for third.
Michael and Shannon McKay bred the brown colt in Oregon from the Splash Bac mare Time To Splash Bac. Second in the Baxter Andruss Oregon-Bred Futurity, Willy B Gone has earned $17,724.
Loosin My Lover, a gelded son of the Thoroughbred sire Six Thirteen, finished another length back to earn $1,794 for third. Jockey Erick Garcia rode the sorrel gelding for owner Sergio Leon and trainer Juan Leon.
Bred by David McBride, Loosin My Lover was the winner of the Baxter Andruss Oregon-Bred Futurity in his last start and he has earned $18,221. He is out of the Hawkinson mare Lover Cat.
Completing the field were One Special Dynasty, Summertime Hawk, Jess B 613 and Js Wildchick.
