OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 23, 2019—Curls Happy Wagon found more energy as the Grade 3, $63,750 Decketta Stakes continued Saturday at Remington Park, gaining the lead midway and then pulling away to win by a length.

Owned by Michael Pohl and Martin Stacy of Irving, Texas, Curls Happy Wagon is trained by Stacy Charette-Hill and was ridden by Jorge Torres. The 4-year-old mare finished ahead of runner-up First Of 15 and third-place Trace Dynasty who was a head behind the second-place finisher. Curls Happy Wagon handled 350 yards in :17.392 over a fast track.

Away at 5-2 odds, Curls Happy Wagon paid $7.40 to win, $4.40 to place and $3.60 to show. The win came in her 2019 season debut, her fifth career win from nine starts. An Oklahoma-bred daughter of PYC Paint Your Wagon from the Spit Curl Jess mare Eye A Spit Curl, Curls Happy Wagon was bred by her owners. The royally-bred First Of 15 earned $12,642 for finishing second. The stakes winning daughter of leading sire Apollitical Dash races for owner Richard Tobin and trainer Jason Olmstead. Bred in Oklahoma by James and Marilyn Helzer, First Of 15 is out of the Corona Cartel mare Tinys Corona Queen, making her a sister to last year's Remington Park Oklahoma-Bred Futurity(RG2) winner Lynnder 16. Cristian Esqueda has the riding call aboard the $146,451 earning 4-year-old.

Stakes winner and grade 1-placed Trace Dynasty races for owner/breeder Kathleen O. Matey. Clinton Crawford trains the FDD Dynasty 4-year-old out of Wowzer Won by Streakin Sixes. The $6,953 third-place purse boosted the brown filly's earnings total to more than $247,000.
