FMM Rocking Cartel (#4) wins the Oklahoma Juvenile at Remington Park Saturday, defeating second-place finisher She Can Dash Fast (#10).

FMM Rocking Cartel Wins Oklahoma Juvenile At Remington Park

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK—MARCH 23, 2019—The $50,000 Oklahoma Juvenile was won by FMM Rocking Cartel at longshot odds of 23-1 on Saturday, March 23 at Remington Park.

Owned and bred in Texas by Rancho El Porvenir of Joshua, Texas, FMM Rocking Cartel is trained by Roberto Duenes and was ridden by Gaspar Garcia. The 2-year-old gelding handled 300 yards over a fast track in :15.649, defeating She Can Dash Fast by a nose with Volcom Prince in third, a head behind the winner.

FMM Rocking Cartel won for the first time in just two attempts. The winner’s share of $20,830 moved his total earnings to $22,758. He is a son of Teller Ima Rockstar from the Captain Courage mare Sexy Courage.

Runner-up She Can Dash Fast races for owners Jose Guzman and Justin Robinson. Trainer Amanda Tongay conditions the daughter of leading sire Heza Fast Dash from the Ocean Runaway mare All Women Will. Bred in Louisiana by Ponderosa Ranch of P C Inc., She Can Dash Fast was ridden by jockey Gonzalo Valles, Jr. The filly earned $8,855.

Clinton Crawford saddled third-place finisher Volcom Prince for owner Raymond Merrill, Renee Wilson and Gregory Cullum. The son of All American Futurity(G1) sire Volcom is out of the Corona Cartel mare Suzy Cartel. Ridden by Bonifacio Quiroz, the bay gelding earned $5,730 for the effort. Shez Dominating, Valiant Memorie, Mh Might B Leavin, Lota Saturday and VF Brave The Wynd completed the field.

The Oklahoma Juvenile is conducted for 2-year-olds who competed in trials for the Oklahoma Futurity on March 9 but did not make the final.

Remington Park racing continues on Sunday, March 24 with a 10-race afternoon program underway at 1:30pm-Central.
