FREDRICKSBURG, TX—AUGUST 10, 2019—Coming off a third-place effort in the Grade 2 Firecracker Futurity at Delta Downs last month, A Painted Dynasty posted a dominating one-length win, in the third of five trials, to post the top qualifying time Saturday for the $104,450 Gillespie County Fair Futurity.

The 10 fastest qualifiers, from 48 two-year-olds who contested the trials today, will return to the Gillespie County Fairground on Sunday, August 25th to vie for the $36,557 winner's purse going 350 yards.

Under jockey Jesse Levario, A Painted Dynasty battled early before drawing off to complete the 350 yards in :17.776 seconds, equaling a 94 speed index into a 10 mph headwind. Trainer Josue Ponce saddled the bay son of world champion sire FDD Dynasty for owner David Gutierrez.

The Mixer Ranch bred the $15,000 Heritage Place Yearling Sale graduate in Oklahoma from the Pyc Paint Your Wagon mare Third Painted Sign. He has compiled a (6) 3-1-2 record and earned $88,720 this season. A Painted Dynasty was also third in the Grade 2 Sam Houston Futurity in May.

In just her second career start Cold Bet got her second win in the final trial to post the second fastest time of :17.880 seconds for owner/breeder Gregorio Davila. Adrian Huitron saddled the gray daughter of This Cartel Is Cold from the Hiclass La Jolla mare High Class Bet. She broke her maiden if her first career start at Sam Houston last April.
