Mr Range Rover Drives To Victory in Treme Stakes(RG3)

NEW ORLEANS, LA—AUGUST 16, 2019—Mr Range Rover, a 3-year-old son of leading sire Heza Fast Dash, got up in the final stride to defeat Rf Fast Dash N Blue by a head in the $40,000 Treme Stakes(RG3) at Fair Grounds Racecourse Saturday afternoon. Soft On The Coronas finished another head back in the blanket finish to get third.

Ridden by jockey Ricardo Hernandez, Jr., Mr Range Rover completed the 350 yards in :17.698 seconds, a 90-speed index into a 10 mph crosswind. Trainer Katie Carlos saddled the brown gelding to his second win in six starts for owner-breeder Ponderosa Ranch Of P C Inc.

Out of the Fast Prize Dash mare Dashformoomoo, Mr Range Rover earned $24,000 to boost his bankroll to $111,384. He was a finalist in the LQHBA Laddie Futurity(RG2) and the Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile (RG2) last season.

Runner-up Rf Fast Dash N Blue earned $8,000 for second. Vann Haywood trains the Jess Louisiana Blue gelding for owner Rogers Farm. Tim and Jennnie Rogers bred the sorrel gelding from the Heza Fast Dash mare Fast Dash N Deb. Gilbert Ortiz had the riding call aboard the $80,944 earner.

Third-place finisher Soft On The Coronas races for owner Joseph Landreneau and is conditioned by trainer Lanny Keith. Everardo Rodriguez rode the Corona Leaving You gelding out of Soft Summer Jess by Jess Special. Bred by Donald Aymond, Soft On The Corona earned $4,400 for the effort.

Jets Fast Dash, Achievepiloto, Guidry Pride II, Igottarampage and Heza Made Man completed the field.
