Jess Sweet Time Scores In $40,000 LQHBA Sale Juvenile

OPELOUSAS, LA—OCTOBER 22, 2020—Jess Sweet Time, under jockey Juan Garcia, Jr., rolled to a one-length win over Shortstop Express in the $40,000 LQHBA Sale Juvenile Thursday night at Evangeline Downs.

Trainer Trey Ellis saddled the $18,500 LQHBA Sale repurchase to his second win in seven starts this season. Jess Sweet Time completed the 350 yards in :17.517 seconds, equaling a 95 speed index.

Racing for owners Roland Frederick, Cory Mouton and Ellis, the son of son of multiple stakes sire One Sweet Jess earned $24,000 for the winning effort. Bred by James Sistrunk from the Game Patriot mare Track Shaker, Jess Sweet Time has earned $43,170 this season.

Runner-up Shortstop Express earned $8,000 for owner Jose Estrada Quarter Horses. Joel Huttron trains the Freightrain B filly out of Allizoom by First Prize Perry. Ublado Luna had the riding call aboard the Shortstop Racing Louisiana -bred filly.

Rickey Thompson's Tttroyalityntheblood finished a head back in third. Trainer Jose Carrizales named Ricardo Hernandez, Jr. to ride the son of Apollitical Blood from the This Snow Is Royal mare Royality N The Makin. Bred by Ernest Thompson, Tttroyalityntheblood earned $4,400.

Lafitte, La Savanne, Ho Lotta Patriot, Apollitcal Bye, Jaggers Delta One, Little Red Rouge, and B Sweet completed the field.
