Tuckers Prize Prevails In Louisiana Downs Opening Day Feature Allowance

BOSSIER CITY, LA—JANUARY 23, 2021—Tuckers Prize rallied under jockey Ubaldo Luna, to get up by a neck over Rf Fast Dash N Blue in the $15,000 Feature Allowance Saturday afternoon on Louisiana Downs opening day card for the 2021 Quarter Horse meet. Eyeondaprize was a nose back in the blanket-finish to take third.

Owned-and-trained by Preston Jourdan, Tuckers Prize completed the 400 yards in :19.928 seconds on a muddy (sealed) racing surface to equal at 93 speed index. The win was worth $9,000. Kirby and Phillip Bruchhaus bred the restricted Grade 3 winner by multiple stakes sire Fast Prize Dash from the Game Patriot mare Bb Secrets Game.

The 5-year-old gelding has compiled a (24) 9-4-4 record and banked $170,545. He won the 2019 Louisiana Champions Day QH Derby(RG3). Last season he was second in the Mid City Stakes(RG3), Opelousas Stakes and third in the Louisiana Classic Stakes(RG2).

Runner-up Rf Fast Dash N Blue earned $3,000 for owner-breeder Rogers Farms. Vann Haywood trains the multiple stakes-placed son of Jess Louisiana Blue from the Heza Fast Dash mare Fast Dash N Deb. The 5-year-old gelding has banked $137,120 from 27 starts. Gilbert Oritz had the riding call.

Rosendo Valdez' Eyeontheprize earned $1,650 for third. Jockey Arturo Alvarez was aboard the Fast Prize Jordan filly for trainer Rosendo Valdez, Jr. Daniel Trahan bred the 4-year-old from the Game Patriot mare Good Game Meg. She has earned $43,610.

One Fast Perry, Dlj Imma B Famous and Happie Happie Happie completed the field.
