LOS ALAMITOS, CA—FEBRUARY 27, 2021—Javier Chavez and Juan Humberto Moya’s Redneck Ryan is now a perfect two for two at Los Alamitos Race Course since arriving here from New Mexico in time for the start of the current season.

Purchased privately by his new owners from Santa Fe Trail Realty LLC, Redneck Ryan has done everything right in those outings, winning his local debut by 1-¼ lengths in a sizzling 300-yard time of :15.268, which is the meet’s fastest at that distance, before returning to post a ¾ length win in an allowance event 350 yards over a field that included stakes winners Dr Tool and Stolen Lives here on Saturday night.

Redneck Ryan bumped at the start of his last outing, but he made no mistakes from there. He opened an early half-length advantage and then stretched it out to ¾ lengths. He maintained that lead to the wire, as he covered the distance in another solid time, this one in :17.66, while finishing ahead of runner-up Dr Tool.

Now a winner in seven of 26 career starts, Redneck Ryan earned $6,875 on Saturday night to take his lifetime earnings to $107,491. Ridden to victory by Oscar Peinado and trained by Jaime Gomez, the 7-year-old Separatist horse looks ready to go in a stakes event at Los Alamitos soon.

Prior to landing at Los Alamitos, Redneck Ryan made 17 starts in New Mexico, racing everywhere from Sunray Park to Zia Park and from Sunland Park to The Downs at Albuquerque. He did start his racing career in Southern California, racing in the 2016 Golden State Juvenile Stakes and also competing in the trials to both the Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity and Los Alamitos Winter Derby.

Bred by Eaves Horses Family Limited Partnership, Redneck Ryan is out of the First Down Dash mare A Delightful Legacy, who in 2003 won the Grade 3 All American Juvenile Stakes and finished fourth to A Regal Choice in the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity.

Redneck Ryan is a brother to champion and grade 1 winner and sire Inseperable and Separate Interest.

Redneck Ryan is many years remove from futurity and derby trials, but if he continues his current form, he could see some graded stakes action at the Orange County oval in the months to come.
