Kiss Me Bac Heads Tuesday Works At Los Alamitos

LOS ALAMITOS, CA—MARCH 3, 2021—Twenty-eight juveniles posted works on Tuesday morning at Los Alamitos with horses representing the barns of Jaime Gomez, Paul Jones, Mike Robbins, and Felix Gonzalez.

The morning’s fastest work went to the Jaime Gomez-trained Kiss Me Bac, a gelding by AQHA champion Kiss My Hocks out of the multiple stakes winner Bac In Front. Owned by Javier Chavez and Juan Humberto Moya, Kiss Me Bac covered the 220 yards in :12.20 while winning he drill by 1-½ lengths over stablemate Political Cartel, who had the morning’s third fastest time of :12.50.

Kiss Me Bac hopped leaving the gate, but he displayed a lot of quickness and eye-catching ability to move into a higher gear.

Kiss Me Bac’s dam, Bac In Front, had a tremendous 2015 season, as she won the La Primera Del Año Derby, PCQHRA Breeders Derby and Dillingham Handicap in her sophomore campaign. Kiss Me Bac’s sire, Kiss My Hocks, won the Sam Houston Futurity, Ruidoso Futurity and Rainbow Derby during a tremendous career in which he earned $1,199,385. Bac In Front is the dam of FDD Dynasty gelding Pay Me In Front, who qualified to the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Super Derby and Grade 2 Golden State Derby last year.

Political Cartel is by Corona Cartel out of mare Political Nonsense, who earned $51,668 in her career while running second to Time For Wine in the Grade 1 AQHA Distaff Challenge here in 2016. Political Cartel’s female family is that of millionaire A Delightful Dasher.

Moya and Jaime Gomez own Boogies Best Dream, who worked in :12.9 while leaving from the inside post as part of a three-horse set. Sired by the promising second-crop sire Docs Best Card and out of This Boogie Fires, Boogies Best Dream is a half-sister to AQHA champion J Fires Up, who earned over $1.4 million while winning the Grade 1 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity, Grade 1 Golden State Million Futurity and Governor’s Cup Futurity. This Boogie Fires ran third in the 2011 Kindergarten Futurity.

Moya was also represented by the One Famous Eagle colt He Looks Famous, who worked in :12.8 on Tuesday morning. The Oklahoma-bred is out of the dam Hot Looker, who the daughter of the stakes winner Look Her Ove and a full-sister to 2019 AQHA World Champion He Looks Hot. This is the family of AQHA champions Hawkinson, Hawkish and Flame N Flash.

Haras Portofino’s New York Teller posted a :12.4 clocking while working from the outside post against the Seperate Interest filly Myst It, who worked in :12.7. A filly by Teller Cartel, New York Teller is the barn of trainer Paul Jones.
