Tierra de Los Lobos Wins First Stake in Five Livestock Company Rod Mills Memorial Derby in Jerome

JEROME, ID—JUNE 20, 2021—Tierra de Los Lobos broke his maiden in the trial and returned to win his first stakes race in the $15,050 Five Livestock Company Rod Mills Memorial Derby at Jerome on Sunday afternoon.

Tierra de Los Lobos, with Jesus Flores aboard, covered the 350-yard race in :17.749 for trainer Juan Sanguino and owner Jorge Murillo. The pair won gate-to-wire and finished a nose in front of Cd Son Of Farm Boss for the win.

The Wagons West gelding was bred in Utah by Peterson Stallion Farm LLC, out of Reina de la Noche, by Corona King. Tierra de Los Lobos has two wins in seven career efforts. He won his trial on June 6 and was the fifth fastest qualifier. The $6,020 winner's purse today boosted his bankroll to $7,250.

Cd Son Of Farm Boss and jockey Never Marin placed second in a close finish among the top four finishers. He was fifth in his trial and was the seventh fastest qualifier. He earned $3,010 for the effort.

Garth Blatter trains Cd Son Of Farm Boss for Kylie Aguirre Valenzuela. He was bred in Oregon by Wade Siegel and Don Boyle, by Bf Farm Boss and out of the stakes placed mare Bella Nonna, by Separatist.

Third fastest qualifier Oh Jangles finished third in the final to earn $1,505. Cesar Moreno had the call for trainer Fredy Olmos and owner Juventino Ortiz..

Oh Jangles was bred in Idaho by Dan Moon, by Feature Mr Bojangles and out of Oh La Hot, by Walk Thru Fire.

Completing the field were California Dreamin, Cartels Breakout, Miss Corona Time, Conquer the Riches and Lady Blue Patriot.
